4 Places Where Luxury Travelers Can Go 'Gatsby'

In Newport, R.I., boutique hotel Vanderbilt Grace is paying tribute to the mansion's long and illustrious history with its "Vintage Vanderbilt" menu. Grand Chef Relais & Chateaux Jonathan Cartwright developed the vintage cuisine based on a historic menu from 1912 found within the Vanderbilt family records. It consists of cream of mushroom and lobster broth; oysters with mignonette sauce; an entree of turkey supreme with roasted potatoes or sea bass with hollandaise and grilled asparagus; and includes dessert options include chocolate meringues with coffee ice cream and roasted peaches with cinnamon ice cream. Select items will become a permanent part of menu at the hotel's fine dining restaurant Muse by Jonathan Cartwright.

Aside from the delicious dining options, guests have the option to live like a Vanderbilt by booking the Vintage Vanderbilt Experience Package. The package includes a two-night stay at the boutique hotel, a welcome gift upon arrival, daily champagne breakfast for two, a Vintage Vanderbilt five-course dinner for two with wine pairings and two passports to tour five Newport mansions. The inn will also be playing rooftop movies this summer, including the Robert Redford-Mia Farrow Great Gatsby.

In Asheville, N.C., the Grove Park Inn Resort & Spa -- built in 1913 on the side of Sunset Mountain -- is one of the South's most noteworthy resorts. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, it has 14-foot fireplaces and a comfy feel -- some of the attractions that have encouraged such famous names as Thomas Edison, Henry Ford, Harvey Firestone and presidents Franklin Delano Roosevelt and Woodrow Wilson to visit. F. Scott Fitzgerald, author of The Great Gatsby, stayed at the hotel while his wife, Zelda, spent her nights in a sanitarium nearby. Thus the hotel's somewhat ironically romantic Great Gatsby getaway package was created.

For the ultimate Gatsby package, though, Resorts Casino Hotel in Atlantic City is offering a Great Gatsby Package throughout the summer. With its Art Deco styled guest rooms and fun outdoor lounges, guests will feel like they are living in the world of Jay Gatsby. Guests stay in a Deluxe Rendezvous Tower Room, get complimentary cocktails, breakfast for two and admission to the spa, all in the name of the Great Gatsby. Better yet, try the "Zelda & F. Scott's Revenge" package, which includes all of the above plus a $20 food credit and two 30-minute massages!

Here's to the new Gatsby!
