NEW YORK (TheStreet) -- Apple sure knows how to do birthdays right.

Today is the 30th birthday of the Mac, and Apple is celebrating the event on its Web site with several items dedicated towards celebrating the personal computing revolution. The Cupertino, Calif.-based tech giant has posted an ode to the Mac, talking about the introduction of the Macintosh, and how people are using it today:

"In 1984, Apple introduced the world to Macintosh.

It was designed to be so easy to use that people could actually use it.

And it came with a promise-that the power of technology taken from a few and put in the hands of everyone, could change the world.

That promise has been kept.

Today, we create, connect, share, and learn in ways that were unimaginable 30 years ago.

Imagine what we can accomplish in the next 30 years."

Also on Apple's Web site, there's a timeline going back 30 years, describing the Mac's wide impact, from harnessing data and teaching the world to code. The timeline also highlights the Mac's pioneering role in electronic music and design and its merging of liberal arts and technology. It's really an incredible look back at all the things Mac computers have helped people achieve over the years.

Ever the one to capitalize on personal experiences, Apple has also set up a page allowing users to share their experiences with their first Mac. Surprisingly (or maybe not, depending on your perspective), the Mac with the most first experiences is the Macintosh 512Ke, with 4.8% of experiences shared so far. Most of the other models on there are from the 1980's, except the 2011 version of the Mac Pro with 2.9% of experiences. It's pretty incredible to think about that in the past 3 years, how many people have become introduced to their first Macs.

Apple has also set up a video commemorating the 30th anniversary of the Mac. See the video below:
