Stocks Sink as U.S. Manufacturing Slumps

Dell (DELL) shares were upgraded to "buy" from "sell" at Goldman Sachs. Shares surged 4.4%.

Deckers Outdoor (DECK) stock jumped 10.6% after shares of the footwear, apparel, and accessories company was upgraded to "buy" from "neutral" at Sterne Agee.

SuperValu (SVU) shares surged 12.6% after reports said private-equity firm Cerberus Capital Management is open to various deal alternatives with the U.S. grocery chain, such as buying a store chain or the whole company.

Computer Sciences (CSC) shares rose 3.2% after the technology services provider said it will sell its credit services business to Equifax (EFX) for $1 billion in cash.

Equifax shares ticked up 4.2%.
