Road Commission for Oakland County (RCOC) Managing Director Dennis Kolar, PE, has been elected president of the Intelligent Transportation Society of Michigan (ITS Michigan) by the organization's Board of Directors. ITS Michigan is the state chapter of the Intelligent Transportation Society of America (ITS America), the not-for-profit organization that fosters the use of advanced technologies, known as Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS), in surface transportation. Kolar's term as ITS Michigan president begins June 1 and is for one year.
Gorman's Home Furnishings and Interior Design has announced the addition of Barbara Rumpel of Rochester Hills to its Southfield designer center and showroom as an interior designer. In this position, she is responsible for working with homeowners to select furniture and accessories and provide in-home design counsel She previously worked for Art Sample Home as a Sales and Design Consultant for 12 years.
Katie Rehrauer, account manager for Brogan & Partners, has been elected to the Scleroderma Foundation Michigan Chapter Board of Directors for a two-year term. The Scleroderma Foundation Michigan Chapter raises donations through special events, such as the June 8 Family Adventure Day at the Detroit Zoo, and annual giving programs. Scleroderma is a crippling autoimmune disorder characterized by a thickening and hardening of the skin.
Amy Butler, Executive Director of OU INC, was elected to the board of directors of the Michigan Energy Innovation Business Council at the group's annual meeting at the Kellogg Center in East Lansing. She will serve a three-year term. Butler is a resident of Rochester Hills and native of Eaton Rapids. She has more than 30 years of experience working with state government and developing state programs.

The Metroparks hired a new professional golf staff to act as Golf Services Managers for the Metroparks' eight 18-hole regulation golf courses throughout southeast Michigan. In Oakland County, Rod Duffe of Highland will supervise Indian Springs Metropark Golf Course located in White Lake.
