Mitt Romney Raises $11.5M in February

NEW YORK (TheStreet) -- Mitt Romney's campaign raised more than Rick Santorum in February.

The former Massachusetts governor raised $11.5 million in February, which was the second-best month of fundraising for the campaign, according to spokeswoman Andrea Saul.

Santorum's campaign said last week that its candidate raised some $9 million in February, $2.5 million less than front-runner Romney.

The Romney campaign didn't immediately release information about how much cash it had on hand, or how much it spent in February. Those numbers should be available when the Federal Election Committee releases the monthly reports later.

Combined with total receipts through Jan. 31, Romney's campaign has raised about $74.9 million in this election cycle. By comparison, Santorum's campaign has raised (combined with the reported February amount) about $15.6 million.

Newt Gingrich and Ron Paul have raised $18.3 million and $31.1 million, respectively, through Jan. 31. Neither campaign has released February data.
