TEDx Macatawa will host a conference March 8 at the Knickerbocker Theater.

Holland

Organizers of a TEDx Macatawa event say the March 8 event has sold out.

Group spokesman Bruce Buursma said Wednesday that the event is completely sold out.

People who would like to participate but do not have tickets will be able to view the event on LiveStream.com.  There will be a link to the live video/audio feed on the home page of TEDx Macatawa at tedxmacatawa.org

Organizers have previously said attendance would be capped at 400. Applicants had to answer a few short answer-style questions in order to be invited.

TEDx events are independently organized but inspired by the nonprofit group TED — Technology, Entertainment, Design — started in 1984 as a conference dedicated to “ideas worth spreading.”

The events, popular with professionals, typically give attendees opportunities for discussions and networking, and feature speakers on inspirational, marketing, technology, entertainment or design topics.
