CPI Flat in April; Retail Sales Rise 0.1%

NEW YORK (TheStreet) -- The Consumer Price Index for April was flat from March, the Labor Department said Tuesday. The core number, excluding food and energy, rose 0.2%
The CPI numbers matched the estimates of most economists.
Retail sales in April rose 0.1% after advancing 0.8% in March, the Commerce Department said.
Economists expected retail sales to rise 0.2%.
