U.S. Nonfarm Payrolls Add 69,000 Jobs in May
NEW YORK (TheStreet) -- The U.S. work force added 69,000 jobs in May; the unemployment rate was 8.2%, the Labor Department said Friday.
Economists were calling for nonfarm payrolls to have risen by 150,000 last month, according to Reuters. The unemployment rate was seen at 8.1%.
Employers added only 115,000 jobs in April.
