Goodyear Tire: S&P Intraday Gainer

NEW YORK (TheStreet) -- Goodyear Tire(GT) was the best-performing stock in the S&P 500 on Wednesday morning.

The S&P 500 was rising 9.5 points, or 0.7%, to 1,340.

Shares of Goodyear rose 7.07% to $10.91. Goldman Sachs is keeping its attractive view on car companies and their suppliers, according to Bloomberg.

Goodyear trades at an estimated price-to-earnings ratio for next year of 4.32 times; the average for tire companies is 6.28.

Five of the 11 analysts who cover Goodyear Tire rated it buy. Four analysts gave the stock a hold rating and two rated it sell.

The stock has declined 22.87% year to date.
