Obama Ad Touts 'Home-Grown' American Energy
NEW YORK (TheStreet) -- President Barack Obama highlights education, manufacturing and "home-grown" American energy in his latest political ad as the way to create an economy built to last.
In the one-minute advertisement set to launch in Colorado, Florida, Iowa, North Carolina, New Hampshire, Nevada, Ohio, Pennsylvania and Virginia, the president remarks that Americans have the choice between two candidates with very different plans to get the country back on track.
"Governor Romney's plan would cut taxes for the folks at the very top, roll back regulations on big banks, and he says that if we do our economy will grow and everyone will benefit," Obama says in the ad.
The ad's characterization of Romney's plan is on message with how the president's campaign has attempted to portray the presumed Republican nominee since the start of the election cycle -- as a candidate who favors Wall Street, the wealthy and trickle-down economics.
The Obama campaign has launched a series of criticisms of Romney, questioning the former Massachusetts governor for havingshipped jobs overseas and for withholding his tax returns.
