8 Wight Farm Road, Natick

The four-bedroom Garrison Colonial at 8 Wight Farm Road in Natick has had just one owner since it was built in 1988.

Now this sunny and solid home on a quiet cul-de-sac is ready to welcome a new family.

“This is a fabulous neighborhood, with cul-de-sacs on both ends of the street,” said Realtor Diane B. Sullivan, of Coldwell Banker of Natick. “It has easy access to parks, schools and Natick Center.”

Surrounded by well-kept homes, the curb appeal of the house is enhanced by a well-manicured yard with mature plantings.

The traditional Garrison Colonial center entrance opens to a roomy tiled foyer with closet and gleaming hardwood floors throughout the first floor.

The home has six-panel solid pine doors throughout, a feature that is rare in homes today.

The heart of the home is the 21 by 15 foot family room with a vaulted ceiling, exposed beams, skylights and a ceiling fan.

“This room has six windows plus skylights, and goes from front to back, so it has lots of natural light,” said Sullivan.

An exposed brick fireplace with hearth anchors one end of the room which opens to a sunny kitchen and eating area. More natural light streams through French doors off the kitchen which open to a sun room and deck.

“This is open casual living,” said Sullivan of the spacious, yet cozy, family room, kitchen and sunroom.

The 20 by 11 foot kitchen has a large working island, newly-installed hardwood flooring, wood cabinets and white Formica countertops.

The 16-by-10-foot sunroom with tiled floor and ceiling fan overlooks the landscaped backyard. The window panes curve up to form the glass ceiling making this room truly a sun-filled space. Sliding doors from the sunroom open to a deck with stairs to the yard.

“It’s really more than a sunroom with the floor to ceiling windows and sliders to the deck,” said Sullivan.

A hallway from the kitchen connects with separate entry ways to the all of the rooms on the first floor which include a half bath and laundry room, office, living and dining rooms.

The 11-by-11-foot dining room is accessed through the kitchen and the entrance foyer and has two windows. The living room, which opens from the foyer as well as the back hall measures 8 by 11 feet and has natural light from three windows.

One of the nicest features of the home is the first-floor office. The extensive wood built-ins include bookshelves, cupboards and a window seat.

“This is a true office, not a converted bedroom. It has attractive wood shelves and cupboards built-in,” said Sullivan. “I think two of the best features of this house are the sunroom and the first-floor office.”

Stairs with a carpet runner from the front foyer lead to a roomy second floor landing. Pull-down stairs to the attic lead to more storage space.

The 17 by 11 foot master bedroom includes three windows and two closets, one a walk-in. The bathroom has a tub/shower.

There is a second full bath off the hallway and three bedrooms. The corner bedrooms each have three windows and measure 15 by 10 and 14 by 12 feet. Each has a double closet. The fourth bedroom has two windows and is 11 by 11 feet.

There is a full walk out basement with excellent natural light from sliding glass doors to the backyard. The 25 by 23 foot lower level has the potential to be finished to a second family room.

The two-car garage is on the lower level.

The home has an alarm system and is plumbed for air conditioning.

The public schools that serve this neighborhood are the Bennett Hemenway Elementary School, Wilson Middle School and Natick High School.
