Eastern CT second-quarter home sales up 14.52%
Single-family home sales in New London and Windham counties rose 14.52 percent in the second quarter compared with a year ago, the Eastern Connecticut Association of Realtors reported Wednesday.
Unit sales were 891 in the three months ended June 30 compared with 778 in the like 2012 period, the Franklin-based group said. Single-family sales represent the largest segment of the real estate market and the second quarter is usually the year’s strongest sales period.
Single-family sales in New London County were up 15.22 percent to 636 units from 552 during the quarter. Windham County sales rose 12.83 percent to 255 units from 226, the association reported.
Median sales price in New London County fell 3.28 percent to $220,000 from $227,450 while the median price in Windham County climbed 4.40 percent to $165,000 from $158,050 a year earlier.
