Apple Roundup: Samsung, Retina App, Apple TV

NEW YORK (TheStreet) -- Today's top Apple(AAPL) stories include a temporary restraining order against Samsung, a new Retina app, and more rumors about the Apple TV.

Apple and its lawyers have proposed an injunction against Samsung, as the Korean company's Galaxy S III smartphone is set to go on sales in the United States next month.

U.S. District Judge Lucy H. Koh wants to know if the new flagship smartphone is "colorably different" than the company's Nexus smartphone, according to Bloomberg. This is the device that Apple originally filed a claim against back in February.

Apple has approved an app for the Mac App Store which features "Retina graphics," suggesting that Apple's computers may receive Retina Display graphics.

Folderwatch, the app in question, was updated today with several new features, 9To5Mac reported, the most notable one being "Retina graphics." It's been speculated for some time that Apple would bring Retina Display to its computing line, and by allowing an app with this, it's a good bet that Apple will announce this at its developer conference next week.

Apple is expected to refresh its MacBook Pro line, along with several other lines at its Worldwide Developer Conference, which starts on Monday.

This might be the biggest rumor of all. Tech blog BGR reported that Apple will introduce a TV Software Development Kit (SDK) at its developer conference next week.

If Apple were to do this, it would allow third-party developers to create software for Apple's television products, including the existing Apple TV, and perhaps the oft-rumored Apple television set.

Apple could not be immediately reached for comment on this story.

Shares of Apple are higher today, up 0.2% to $572.85.
