Tried and True Rules for Getting Ahead in Your Career

NEW YORK (MainStreet) -- Many of the skills needed to succeed in today's economy are different from 10 years ago, but the general work ethic you need to get ahead in the workplace has not changed.

Mark Babbit, founder and CEO of YouTern, a career site for younger workers, recently rounded up 25 "old fart" rules college students and recent grads should follow to be successful in their careers. All of these rules are worth reading, but here are four in particular every student should take to heart:
