Spend Election Night With TheStreet

NEW YORK (TheStreet) -- We realize you'll be watching network or cable news channels throughout Election Night.

That's where races get called, pundits makes predictions and partisan hacks try to persuade. They'll show the victory celebrations and concession speeches, as well as guys like Chris Matthews pulling their hair out on live TV.

It's all good. We'll be watching as well.

However, it's 2012 and we live in a multi-screen world.

Most of us have one eye and an ear glued to the television while a smartphone, tablet or computer commands the rest of our attention.

At TheStreet, we'll keep you informed on the latest news and results from all the key races, but beyond that, we also plan to be the place where investors react to what's happening on the 24-hour news cycle.

Our main forum for news and analysis on Election Night will be a live blog hosted by TheStreet's Joe Deaux.

Deaux will be following exit polls, battleground state results, and the popular vote, while also chatting with contributors, market analysts and political strategists. We want you, the investor, to get the fullest insight as to how Tuesday's election will affect Main Street as well as Wall Street.

Meantime, TheStreet's social media team, led by Rocco Pendola, will be staffing our Twitter account throughout the evening (Follow us on Twitter @TheStreet).

We intend to host the evening's most interactive Twitter feed with highlights from what's developing on network and cable news as well as from across the Twitterverse.

But, most of all, we will welcome and broadcast opinions and reactions from readers and investors who read and follow TheStreet.

No cheesy #hashtag to type. Just Tweet to @TheStreet on Election Night and we'll mention and retweet as much of your opinion and reaction as we can.

Readers and investors drive the conversation; TheStreet helps moderate it.

We're up 24/7 on Twitter, but official election night coverage begins Tuesday at 5:00 p.m. Pacific/8:00 p.m. Eastern time.

Joe Deaux's live blog coverage kicks off here on TheStreet at 6 p.m. EST/ 3 p.m. PST.
