Riva Pizzeria to open third store, in Marshfield
Under new ownership, a local pizzeria is getting ready to open its third location, in Marshfield.
In April, Pembroke resident Matthew Story, with the help of his parents, Jonathan and Nancy Story of Scituate, purchased Riva Pizzeria, which has shops in Hull and Scituate.
Story declined to disclose the terms of the sale.
The family quickly set out to open a shop at 1849 Ocean St. in Marshfield.
Renovations are nearing completion. All that remains to be done is plumbing work and a final inspection by the town, Story said.
Story said he hopes to have the new shop open by the end of the month. It will employ 12 to 15 people – some full-time, some part-time, he said.
The shop will be open from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. seven days a week and will offer delivery service.
Story plans to expand Riva’s menu and tweak the pizza dough recipe.
Story has been in the restaurant business for 10 years. He got his start working for Riva Pizzeria’s former owners at an upscale Italian restaurant in Scituate, also named Riva.
