Caterpillar Inc. manufactures and sells construction and mining equipment, diesel and natural gas engines, industrial gas turbines, and diesel-electric locomotives worldwide. Caterpillar has a market cap of $59.4 billion and is part of the industrial goods sector. The company has a P/E ratio of 12.2, below the S&P 500 P/E ratio of 17.7. Shares are up 0.8% year to date as of the close of trading on Thursday. Currently there are 12 analysts that rate Caterpillar a buy, no analysts rate it a sell, and 8 rate it a hold.
