ROCKFORD Burlington Coat Factory announced today that it has joined The Heart Truth campaign dedicated to raising awareness about heart disease among women.
To participate in the fundraiser, visit the Rockford Burlington Coat Factory located at 6260 East State St., or the Machesney Park Burlington Coat Factory located at 8750 N 2nd St.
The iconic image of this campaign is the red dress, used to remind women to take steps to reduce their risk of heart disease. In support of this cause, the Rockford stores will have a special section of red dresses set aside from Feb. 6 through April 8.
For every dress sold, Burlington will donate $1 to the FNIH, up to $25,000. In addition, shoppers will be allowed to purchase a paper red dress for a dollar or more through April 8. Money raised will go to support heart health grants to organizations surrounding the Burlington Coat Factory stores.
