The new upgrade will allow users to not only view their teams' progress throughout game day, but actually do the team draft via their mobile device. Ciaccia said this is a feature that fans have been wanting for quite a while.
This is important, especially since Yahoo! had its mobile app go down last year, leaving a bad taste in the mouth of many fantasy footballer fans. He added that this new version should not only retain last year's users, but bring in new ones as well.
Additionally, football fans aren't the only winners here, with Yahoo!'s fantasy outreach stretching to hockey, basketball and baseball.
Despite the added outreach, Ciaccia said the move will not likely equate to higher mobile ad revenue as yet.

Ciaccia concluded that Yahoo! completed the "Hail Mary" and will likely continue to remain a big player in the fantasy football world.
