LAWRENCE _ Steven Lorenzet, dean of the Nathan Weiss Graduate College at Kean University, has been appointed dean of Rider University’s College of Business Administration and professor of Human Resource Management.

He will assume his new roles at Rider on July 1.

Lorenzet will succeed Dr. Larry Newman, who is pursuing new challenges after serving eight years as dean, according to a Rider news release. Newman plans to continue to serve as co-executive director of the Executive Center for Education and Development and return to the faculty in the Department of Marketing, Advertising and Legal Studies.

“It’s a real pleasure to welcome Steve back to Rider, where he earned the admiration and respect of so many colleagues during his earlier time here as associate dean,” said Dr. Donald Steven, provost and vice president for Academic Affairs. “I believe the College of Business Administration and the University will be well served by his leadership.”

In his previous role as associate dean of the College of Business Administration at Rider, Lorenzet was responsible for the oversight of undergraduate day-to-day operations, and he participated in long-term strategic planning and decision-making as part of the dean’s staff.

“I am thrilled to be returning to Rider and to be serving as dean of the College of Business Administration. The College is poised to have a very successful future and I feel very fortunate to be in a position to shape that endeavor,” Lorenzet said. “I think the opportunity to work with students, faculty, and staff to set the direction of the College of Business Administration is what I am looking forward to most.”
