Cramer Quick Take: Avoid the Autos
NEW YORK (TheStreet) -- Should investors take the plunge into auto stocks?
Jim Cramer told Debra Borchardt at TheStreet.com Thursday that General Motors'(GM) decision to "go global" has now come back to haunt it.Make no mistake, General Motors has tremendous value, said Cramer, but the company deals in Europe, South America and China, three very weak markets at the moment, and those sales just cannot be made up by the U.S. alone.
Cramer said investors can consider buying Ford(F) when the dividend might offer them some protection, but for GM they're going to have to wait until the government finally decides to sell its shares.
