WEDNESDAY, Jan. 30: The Small Business Administration and the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Carderock Division hosts a Federal Government Procurement Conference from 8:30-12:30 a.m. at the Philadelphia Naval Business Center, 1000 Kitty Hawk Ave., Building 77L in Philadelphia. The event’s one-stop format is designed to connect entrepreneurs with various agencies, including the Army Corps of Engineers, the General Services Administration and the Naval Facilities Engineering Command Mid-Atlantic. Guests will be encouraged to make voluntary contributions to the local Children’s Miracle Network Hospital. SATURDAY, March 2: Amateur chefs from five Delaware County churches and synagogues will face-off for the honor of “Top Shelter Chef” during the second annual “Top Shelter Chef Contest” at 6 p.m. at St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church, 229 Powell Lane in Upper Darby. The contest benefits the Community Action Agency of Delaware County’s Save Our Shelters campaign.
