Microsoft, Cisco, Chevron: Dow Midday Movers
NEW YORK (TheStreet) -- U.S. stocks were rising midday Friday on reports that global central banks will support the markets if the Greek elections this weekend spur chaos.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average was gaining 72.5%, or 0.57%, to 12,724.41 midday Friday. Leading the Dow higher were Microsoft(MSFT) , Cisco(CSCO) and Chevron(CVX) .
Shares of Microsoft rose 2.1% to $29.95. Business software firm Yammer agreed to be bought by Microsoft for $1.2 billion, according to The Wall Street Journal.
The stock has risen 15.4% year to date.
Cisco shares rose 1.27% to $17.14. The stock has dropped 5.23% year to date.
Shares of Chevron gained 1.35% to $103.30. The stock has fallen 2.91% year to date.
