AUBURN HILLS Healthcare reform to be discussed at Talent Townhall

Health care benefit experts will discuss recent legislation impacting area employers, and how businesses can ready themselves for 2014 implementation during the upcoming Talent Townhall. Certified by the Human Resource Certificate Institute, this breakfast event is held 8 to 10 a.m., Wednesday, Feb. 13 at Oakland Community College Student Center. It is presented by the Auburn Hills Chamber of Commerce and Blue Cross Blue Shield.

Health care reform subject experts include Steve Mattar, CLU, ChFC, Member, Corporate Benefit Solutions, and Alisa Bennett, Manager, Blue Cross Blue Shield Health Care Reform Team.

Attendees are encouraged to bring gently used girls running shoes to donate to North Oakland YMCA’s Girls on the Run program, a non-profit prevention program that encourages preteen girls to develop self-respect and healthy lifestyles through running.

Talent Townhall tickets are $25 for members and $35 for nonmembers.

HR professionals may earn 1.5 credit hours by attending this event, sponsored by Blue Cross Blue Shield, Oakland University, Corp!, Baker College, Snelling Staffing Services and Oakland Community College. Chaldean-American Chamber of Commerce announces new officers and board members

The Chaldean-American Chamber of Commerce announced its newly elected and re-elected board members for 2013-2014. They are: Paul Asker, Chairman, West Bloomfield Township; Matthew Loussia, West Bloomfield Township; Tiffany George, Highland; Steven Tapper, West Bloomfield Township and Stephen Yatooma, Birmingham. Saad Hajjar, Immediate past-chairman, West Bloomfield Township and Dr. Iyad Alosachie, West Bloomfield Township were re-elected to the chamber.
