NEW YORK (TheStreet) -- Wall Street opened flat to higher Tuesday ahead of the release of U.S. existing home sales data.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average was rising 6.8 points, or 0.05%, at 12,511. The S&P 500 was up 2.7 points, or 0.2%, at 1318. The Nasdaq was up 3.3 points, or 0.1%, at 2850.

The major U.S. stock indices all gained more than 1% Monday, rebounding from their worst weekly performance of 2012, as international leaders took steps to calm fears about the future of the euro.
