Santorum to Endorse Romney: Source

NEW YORK (TheStreet) -- Rick Santorum is planning to endorse Mitt Romney for the Republican presidential nomination either tonight or tomorrow, a source familiar with the matter told TheStreet on Monday.

The former Pennsylvania senator held a private meeting with Romney Friday in Pittsburgh. Santorum's campaign is now in the process of drafting an email to supporters, said the source, which requested anonymity.

"John Brabender sent an email out saying, 'I want to leak this' ... we're really just waiting for 100% final approval on the exact email that was being sent out," the source said. Brabender is a top Santorum aide.

Romney's campaign has yet to respond to a request for comment.
