NEW YORK (TheStreet) -- A new operating system for the rumored iTV, Tim Cook's comments at a major conference and potential iPhone 5 features are some of the top Apple(AAPL) stories of the day.

Rumors about Apple's new television have swirled seemingly forever, but now we have reports that a new operating system for the oft-rumored television set is going to make its debut at the company's developer conference, WWDC, next month.

The new OS is said to have more features than the operating system used on the existing set top box Apple TV, which is partially derived from the company's mobile operating system, iOS.

CEO Tim Cook spoke at the D: All Things Digital conference late on Tuesday, discussing the new Apple TV, the company's direction and his relationship with Steve Jobs.

Cook also spoke about wearable technology, something Apple has lightly ventured into with its iPod Nano technology, adding that this is an "interesting area." He also spoke about Apple's relationship with Facebook(FB) . "I think the relationship is very solid," Cook said. "We have great respect for them. I think we can do more with them. Just stay tuned on this one."

As the iPhone 5 gets closer, more rumors about the device crop up seemingly every hour of every day. Now we have a report that the phone's screen may measure 4-inches diagonally. The device may also feature a repositioned FaceTime camera, according to 9to5Mac.com.

The iPhone 4S has a 3.5-inch diagonal display.

If the new phone has a 4-inch diagonal display, this movies could watched in 16:9 aspect ratio, the same as high-definition TV.
